Meet our team: Anne Beaudoin’s testimony

Discover the testimony of Anne Beaudoin, information and support line manager at Parkinson Québec.

My name is Anne Beaudoin, I am responsible for the information and support line. I have had social work experience for several years, having worked for Accueil Bonneau for 5 years before joining Parkinson Quebec in October of this year.

My role here is to present Parkinson Québec’s services and activities to people living with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers to live positively with the disease, as well as to provide all the information and resources available to them.

I am very happy to help, it makes me happy to be of service and I feel a lot of compassion because I was a caregiver for my mother who was living with Parkinson’s disease. When my mother passed away about 2 years ago, I told myself that one day I will get involved in the organization, I wanted to give back what I had received, in honor of my mother and to help the people living with the same disease.

During the holidays, which can be a difficult time for people living with Parkinson’s disease, I recommend having as much contact as possible with your loved ones, friends and family. Do not be embarrassed to contact crisis counseling services in case of psychological distress, the 811 line or 911 in case of an immediate emergency.

Note: the Parkinson Québec information and support line will be closed between December 24 and January 2, 2022 inclusive.
