Throwback to the 2020 projects

8 December 2020

The year 2020 will not have been a year like any other. In this period of recognition, Parkinson Québec wishes to thank you for your unfailing support.

💙 Thank you for your trust. 💙
Thank you for your generosity.

Thank you for allowing us to pursue our mission, by accompanying people living with Parkinson’s disease.

The future is full of hope and it is thanks to you.

The entire team is grateful to you and is committed to continuing to serve the Parkinson’s community.
As we look ahead, let us be inspired by this year’s “no ordinary” victories, the fruits of our collective resilience in the face of adversity. We dedicate these victories to you, they are yours.
There are no small actions, whether you choose to talk to your loved ones, to read, to subscribe, to share, to discuss, to act, to volunteer or to donate…

A look back at some of the projects and optimizations of this year 2020.

The activity platform Pouvoir d’agir

Last April, Parkinson Québec responded to the pandemic by strengthening its support for people living with Parkinson’s disease and feeling isolated. Indeed, during this unprecedented period, these people were (and still are) particularly vulnerable to isolation, reduced activity levels and reduced social life.
Parkinson Québec took on the challenge of supporting them in a different way by creating an online service platform:

The platform provides access to virtual tools to help you get through this unprecedented situation. It takes the form of live information sessions and physical activities supervised by health professionals, as well as suggestions for entertainment accessible on the Internet. Everything they need to get active, get informed, have fun and help each other.

Online webinars

In order to pursue our mission, we have also adjusted our webinar program on key topics related to Parkinson’s disease (how to fight isolation in times of pandemic).

Our goal was to make quality conferences offered by specialists accessible to all.
Participants were also able to attend and ask their questions live in the comfort of their homes. The webinar interface is easy to use and allows to reduce travel.
