The causes and the mode of action of Parkinson’s disease are still little known which is why several researchers are working on this topic. Since this field is very technical and there is a lot of research out there, it can be difficult to navigate.
This webinar will allow participants to answer the question: What’s new in Parkinson’s research?
The goal of this webinar is to share the latest news in research and make it accessible to all. This is a good way to know what is happening all over the world, but also in Quebec where research is very active.
Presentation of our speaker
Pr. Trudeau is a tenured professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience at the University of Montreal. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia University. He completed a Diploma of Advanced Studies (D.E.A), equivalent to a master’s degree, in neuroscience at the University of Paris. He returned to do a doctorate in the same discipline at the University of Montreal and completed his academic career in the United States, at Iowa State University, by completing a post doctorate.
Professor Trudeau’s lab is currently trying to understand how these neurons work and why they degenerate into Parkinson’s disease. His laboratory is part of the Central Nervous System Research Group, which brings together the neuroscience laboratories of the University of Montreal campus.
