How We Intervene
In partnership with regional Parkinson’s offices and organizations, Parkinson Québec accompanies and supports the Parkinson’s community throughout the province.
Our non-profit organization provides essential assistance to the 100,000 people in Quebec with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones. The actions of Parkinson Québec help them develop and maintain hope for a more peaceful life.
Specific ways we intervene
Each of our interventions is perfectly in line with our organization’s core values.
Education
We encourage self-empowerment by promoting services and educational programs that are consistent, effective and based on reliable sources and leading practices across Quebec. We also encourage the general public to help Parkinson Québec through concrete actions.
Support
We provide psychological support and advice tailored to patients in the most difficult times through our free, bilingual and confidential information line (1 800 720-1307). We also help individuals navigate the Quebec health care system and access the health care they require.
Research
We help find the causes of Parkinson’s disease and effective treatments by strategically funding biomedical research in Quebec institutions.
Advocacy
We represent the Parkinson’s community to advocate for their rights and interests among decision-making authorities. We empower and inform people with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones so that they can lead an active and peaceful life.
