ABOUT US
Parkinson Bas-Saint-Laurent is a not-for-profit organization, incorporated by letters patent and registered as a charitable organization with the Canada Revenue Agency.
For purely charitable purposes, Parkinson Bas-Saint-Laurent is committed to:
- Working for the betterment of people living with Parkinson’s Disease and their loved ones.
- Fostering mutual assistance, providing support and information to people affected by the disease.
- Promoting access to activities to help maintain health.
- Promoting and advocating for the interests of people with Parkinson’s in the region while raising public awareness of the effects of Parkinson’s Disease.
- Receiving and administering donations, bequests and other contributions.
- Holding fundraising events or subscription campaigns to raise money for research into Parkinson’s Disease and enhancing the services offered to people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones.
Parkinson Outaouais advocates for five organizational values that guide its decisions, actions, and behaviors. All members of Parkinson Outaouais are encouraged to adhere to the following values:

- Integrity in all actions undertaken by members.
- Fairness in decisions made for all user members.
- Mutual support leveraging the human strengths of Parkinson Outaouais, maximizing its role within the community.

MEMBERSHIP
Active Members
Any resident of the Outaouais region can apply to become an active member by completing a membership form, whether they are a person with Parkinson’s disease, a caregiver, or someone interested in volunteering. All active members are voting members of Parkinson Outaouais.
Active members have the right to receive notices of member meetings, attend and vote at these meetings, and receive any other information disseminated by the corporation or its partners. They are eligible to become directors of the corporation.
Honorary Members
An honorary member is any person, organization, institution, or business that shares the corporation’s objectives and agrees to associate their name, reputation, or influence with that of the corporation. The Board of Directors has the authority to appoint or remove honorary members.
