Home > Parkinson Québec’s Positions on Issues Related to Parkinson’s
Our positions
Improving the lives of people with Parkinson’s disease and their loved ones is at the heart of Parkinson Québec’s mission.
Partnered with the government and organizations sharing its vision, Parkinson Québec was asked to take a stand and share its views on various social issues affecting people living with the disease. This is how we contribute to creating a more positive living environment for our community.
We thank our donors who make these important advocacy initiatives possible.

3 hommes pour deux femmes atteintes.

Cannabis and Parkinson’s
Cannabis, also known as marijuana, and the active ingredients of the family of cannabinoids that this plant contains have yet to provide enough scientific evidence on their effectiveness in treating Parkinson’s disease.

Pesticides and Parkinson's
Several studies document the relationship between pesticide exposure and the development of Parkinson’s disease, particularly in farmers. Exposure during childhood also increases the risk of developing the disease.
