Parkinson’s Exercise Groups

Physical activity is a key element in Parkinson’s disease management. It reduces the impact of disease symptoms, improves cognitive function and has a neuroprotective effect. You can join online Parkinson’s exercise groups in the comfort of your home, or in person with a group near you.

Online group exercices

Fall program: September 7 to December 17, 2021

Parkinson Québec works with health professionals who know Parkinson’s disease and who accompany you safely throughout the activities. Several activities are available to you on our platform. You can exercise in the comfort of your home. Participate in an online exercise group that meets your needs at a time that is convenient for you.

What activities are you looking forward to trying?

Parkinson’s boxing

First class: Wednesday, september 8
Last class: Wednesday, december 15

Led by a kinesiologist, the Parkinson’s boxing class improves coordination, balance, muscle strength and cardio.

Adapted activities (Level 1 & 2)

First class: Tuesday, september 7th
Last class: Thursday, december 16th

Led by a kinesiologist, this course offers exercises that help strengthen muscles, improve balance, and overall physical endurance (Level 1 & 2).

Voice training

First class: Monday, september 13th
Last class: Friday, december 17th

Guided by specialists, you will explore the principles of your voice production, articulation, prosody, resonance and other aspects related to voice. N.B. This is not speech therapy.

Flexibility and mobility

First class: Tuesday, september 7th
Last class: Friday, december 17th

Inspired by the movements of yoga, this workout improves your joint mobility, flexibility and range of motion.

Morning Stretches

First class: Wednesday, september 8th
Last class: Friday, december 17th

This lesson given by Les Grands Ballets, will allow you to improve your flexibility and reduce stiffness. It also promotes better mobility.
